Racer Guide

Everything you need to know to compete on KaizOFF.

What is KaizOFF?

KaizOFF is a community-run competitive kaizo Romhack racing platform. Racers compete head-to-head in structured tournament brackets across multiple seasons. The platform handles scheduling, standings, and notifications — you just show up and race.

Getting Started

1

Sign in with Discord

Click Sign In in the top-right corner and authorise with your Discord account. You will initially be added as a viewer.

2

Complete the Racer Registration form

Head to /register and fill out the registration form. You will need a profile photo, display name (your racing handle), bio, skill level (Beginner – Expert), and at least one streaming channel (Twitch, YouTube, or TikTok) — this is required so your stream can auto-embed on your match page.

3

Wait for admin approval

After submitting, your registration is marked as pending. An admin or moderator will review your application and approve or reject it. You will be notified on Discord once a decision is made.

4

Build your Game History

Once approved, visit Game History and add every Romhack you have already completed. This list is used to automatically exclude hacks you've played from the pool of eligible hacks for all your future matches.

5

Sign up for a bracket

When a bracket opens for signup, you can join directly from the Brackets page. Each bracket lists available spots, difficulty, and signup deadline.

6

Enable bracket notifications

Go to your user avatar Settings Notifications and turn on New Bracket Available. You will receive an email whenever a new bracket opens for signup so you never miss a registration window.

📋

Prior to Race

Get everything set up before race day

  • Reach out to your opponent on Discord and agree on a date and time.

  • Let an admin or moderator know the agreed date so they can schedule it on the platform.

  • Confirm your stream link is set on your profile so it auto-embeds on the match page.

🏁

Race Day

What to do when it's time to race

  • Join the KaizOFF Discord at least one hour before your scheduled start time for the Hack Selection drawing.

  • Use the KaizOFF Discord Voice Channel for all racer-to-racer audio communication during the race.

  • Go live on Twitch, TikTok, and/or YouTube before the scheduled start time — your stream embeds automatically on the match page.

💡

Helpful Hint

Not required

Add /racer-controls to the end of your Match URL to access the score and timer controls. You can also add it as an OBS Browser Source or window capture to display the hack name, score, and timer directly in your stream overlay.

Most importantly — have fun and follow the rules!

Good sportsmanship is what makes this community great.
